FRANCONIA, NH – Cannon Mountain announced today that it will extend its ski season through April 20th, due to abundant natural snow and deep base depths. The ski area’s original closing day was to be April 13th. To date, Cannon has received the most natural snow of any New Hampshire ski area, 174 inches (14.5 feet), and that combined with aggressive snowmaking efforts all winter made for an easy decision to extend its season by a week. Along with an extension, Cannon is offering a special ticket deal. Between April 7 – 20th, lift tickets will be 2-for-$72, every day.

As of March 25th, Cannon was 100% open, including all glades and Mittersill terrain area, which rely on natural snowfall only to stay open.

“This much snow, this much open and such great conditions in late March made it an easy choice for us,” remarked Greg Keeler, Cannon’s marketing director. Cannon is currently offering next year’s season passes at this year’s rates, so the extra week should help sell a few more passes too. “We’re hoping people take advantage of the conditions and deals and enjoy what can be one of the most fun times of the season. They’ll now have an extra week to do so. And if they have a great time, maybe they’ll leave with a smile, and next year’s season pass.”

Cannon is offering a free ticket bonus on the purchase of certain Cannon-only season passes. Those who purchase by April 13th will receive 2 free lift tickets for next season to share with friends or family.
