Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway

80 person tram cars that climb to the summit of Cannon Mountain! Open daily, weather permitting from:
8:30am - 5pm May 25 - October 14


The Flume Gorge


One of Nature's wonders! Boardwalk, waterfalls, nature walk and covered bridges. Park Visitor Center with history, free movie, gift shop, snack bar & restrooms. Open daily from:
8:30am - 5pm from May 12 - June 30 and September 3 - October 21
8:30am - 5:30pm from July 1 - September 2


The Basin

A short walk to a granite pothole formed by a glacier! Connects to Cascades trail with more waterfalls!



Franconia Notch State Park offers two different campground options: Lafayette Place Campground & Cannon RV Park.


Echo Lake & Echo Lake Beach

Spectacular spring-fed lake and beach at the north end of the park w/ General Store, boat rentals & more.
Open Daily from Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day

Bike Rentals

Rent bikes right at the base of the Tram (Exit 34B) and explore Franconia Notch on two wheels!

Artists Bluff

A great, short hike to outstanding views of Franconia Notch. One of the most popular hikes in the White Mountains.



There are miles and miles of hiking trails in and around Franconia Notch State Park, including a portion of the Appalacian Trail.


Recreation Path

An 8 mile recreation path for bicycles and pedestrians that runs the length of the park from the Flume Gorge to just north of Echo Lake.


Boise Rock

This great glacial erratic has been a part of the history and folklore of Franconia Notch for generations.


Profile Lake

The spring-fed headwaters of the Pemigewasset River, below the former profile of the Old Man. Fly-fishing only.


Old Man Museum

Free museum dedicated to the Old Man of the Mountain inside the Tramway Base Lodge. Open during Tramway operating hours. (see above)


Profile Plaza & Memorial Site

Old Man Museum & Gift Shop

The Old Man of the Mountain fell in 2003 but is not forgotten. Visit the memorial site and Profile Plaza and picture him as he used to be. Follow the signs off Exit 34B.

In the Profile Plaza parking area is the Old Man Museum and Gift Shop open 10am-5pm daily Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day weekend.


New England Ski Museum

Free museum & gift shop at the base of the Tramway at Exit 34B, rich with the history of skiing in America. Open 9-5 daily.

PETS: Pets are only permitted in Franconia Notch State Park in the designated dog walks in the Flume & Tramway parking lots. Pets are prohibited from Echo Lake Beach, Cannon RV Park, Lafayette Campground, on the Tram and in the Flume Gorge.
