January is Ski Area Safety Month. Cannon Mountain is committed to the safety of our staff and guests, both on and off the slopes. We all contribute to each other's safety and well-being.
Pick up your safety month score card from Guest services or from any of the Safety Saturdays activities, earn a gold star for each activity that you finish.
Jan. 3: Meet Ski Patrol
When: 10am & 1pm
Where: Notchview Fireplace Room
Ever wonder what a typical day is like for Cannon Mountain Ski Patrol or why they closed your favorite trail? Now is your chance to learn a little more about the day and life of patrol, how they keep us safe and why it's so important to NOT duck that closed rope.
Jan. 10: The Gear Game
When: 11am-1pm
Where: Peabody Lodge
Can you spot unsafe gear? When is last time you replaced your helmet? Ski gear may seem like a long-term investment, but it wears out overtime and can become dangerous. Stop by The Gear Game to see if you can spot the unsafe and hazardous equipment.
Jan. 17: Scavenger Hunt
When: 9am-12pm
Where: Peabody Lodge and Tuckerbrook Family Area
Locate each of the 6 stations and learn about:

- Where & How to Find Ski Patrol
- How to Properly Fit a Helmet
- Chairlift Safety
- Park S.M.A.R.T.
- On Hill Signage and What Does it Mean
Jan. 24 Learn A Lift
When: 10am & 1pm
Where: Brookside Triple
Take deep dive into chair lift safety and learn why it is so important to pay attention when loading, unloading and riding a lift. Our Lift Ops team will talk about the different parts of the lift, show you how it operates and teach you what all those little buttons do.
