CURRENT CONDITIONS
“Don’t spend time skiing somewhere else hoping it will turn into Cannon.”
- Coco Chanel
We knew we had some snow lined up for today, but we didn't know we had a sleeper pow day on our hands! We rolled in with 6-8" of new snow on the ground this morning and the flakes just kept coming and dropped another 2" during the day. Flurries are expected to continue this afternoon into tomorrow. Temps fall back into a familiar range for this winter, chilly with a NW wind.
9 lifts will spin at 9:00 a.m. Groomers will be out on 47 trails overnight. You can anticipate conditions to be machine groomed, packed powder on most open terrain. The groomers have agreed to leave some powder for the people and will make narrow passes for extra side stashes. Heads up: DJ's Tramline and Kinsman glade close at 3:00 p.m., and the Saddle closes at 3:30 p.m.
Winch Operation: Taft Training Slope, Baron's Run, Profile, Avalanche, & Zoomer.
Racing: There is a U18 National Qualifier on Baron's Run, the trail will remain CLOSED to the public for the day. To access Mittersill, please use Fleitman Trail or hike The Saddle, you will NOT be able to access Lower Baron's via Rabbit Path. To return from Mittersill, crossing guards will be stationed at Access Trail and will send skiers & riders over to Rabbit Path, DO NOT SKI DOWN LOWER BARON'S RUN. Please wait for crossing guards to give you the ok to proceed. There will also be race training on Taft Training Slope.
Parks: A pop-up park will be open on Lower Gremlin with a couple of new rails added recently. The Huckerbrook Park will be open with 9 features. A future park on Tossup is now under construction, so look for more fun features coming soon! Huckerbrook Under the Lights will run every Friday and Saturday from 4-6pm through February. The park crew put in extra hours to bring you an entirely new park on Huckerbrook, with more features, a more technical line and a guaranteed good time.
Patrol would like to remind everyone: DO NOT DUCK ROPES. They are there for an important reason: your safety! Hikers heading up Kinsman Ridge and planning to ski or ride down MUST have a valid Cannon season pass or lift ticket to access our trails.
