White Mountains Triathlon

Athlete will compete in relay teams or individually in one of three categories: Sprint, Olympic or Iron Half triathlon. They will swim through Echo Lake, Bike down scenic Route 18, with the Iron half taking athletes all the way to Route 112 and back. Finally, they will wrap up their competition with a run on the beautiful, paved recreation trails of Franconia Notch State Park.

There will be road closures and delays all day. Avoid all travel to Echo Lake and Peabody Area Saturday 6/24 if possible. There will be no hiker access or beach access all day at Exit 34C as well as road closures on Route 18 and more. Local Mittersill residents must see course marshals to pass.

  • Exit 34C - Closed North and South
  • Exit 36 - Closed North and South
  • Rt. 18 - Closed from Exit 34C to Rt 142/ Forest Hill Rd
  • Wells Road - Closed from Rt. 18 to Rt. 116/ Easton Rd
  • Butterhill Road - Closed from Rt. 18 to Rt. 3

Park Closures

  • Northern part of the bike path from the Tram to Governer Gallen Bridge
  • Echo Lake beach - Closed Friday and Saturday
  • Cannon RV Park - Closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Echo Lake Boat Launch
  • Artist Bluff/Bald Knob Trail
